What Would You Do If........

...if you discovered that your teenage daughter is pregnant? There's a lady who threw her daughter out of the house because of her pregnancy. Some persons said she was harsh because now is the time that her daughter needs her most especially since she might be scared and feeling totally lost.

I have a daughter who is 6 yrs old and i'm trying to establish a good line of communication with her because I want her to be able to come to me about anything..... no matter what it is.

It's The End of Another School Term

Can you believe it? Summer is just around the corner. My daughter is on vacation from school for the next 2 weeks and she is clamoring to go on an airplane.lol Vacation for her means getting on a plane....hmmm not a bad concept but since I cannot grant her that wish i'll be taking her to a hotel that is 'kid friendly' for a weekend......just the 2 of us. I know she will enjoy herself.

We'll use that time as extra bonding mother and daughter time.....Never know we could be on to something here by making it a yearly or every 6 months affair.

Road Rage!

Have you ever noticed that whenever you are running late there is always a driver in front of you who decides to site see? I was driving to word and running 15 minutes behind....when the driver in front of us starts looking at every and I mean every building on his way. You can imagine the line of traffic behind of him. To make matters worse we could not eve overtake because it is a one-way street and cars are parked on both sides. By now i'm thinking....where is a police when you need one :-(

Although i'm not an advocate of road rage i'm beginning to understand how they happen.

Gross!!

I saw an item on the news this morning (either ABC, CBS or NBC cant remember which one) and it was about cockroach jewelry...EEEEWWWWWW! They had these roaches all dolled up and the model was just standing there with a smile on her face.... i'm telling you my skin was crawling.... GROSS!!!

If I ever see anyone walking towards me with live bugs as jewelry I just might go after them with bug spray thinking that they are being attacked.lol

Whoohoo!! Doing The Happy Dance!

Stepped on my scale this morning and it was showing that i've lost another 5 lbs.... Whooohooo! I'm telling ya this South Beach Diet is amazing! I'm not starving at the end of the day and I have alot of energy left too. Kudos to having alot of fish meals too.lol

20 lbs in 6 weeks!!!! Not too shabby if I must say so myself.

Why Do Kids Always Get Sick at Nights?

They will run all over during the day....getting in all sorts of mischief and just when you put them down to sleep and you are dragging your tired body to your own bed you will hear......crying then mommy)))). So you go to see what's the matter and there on the bed is a load of vomit to clean plus a dirty child to clean up...... it makes you wonder if this was the same child who was pestering you a few short hours ago.;-(

You clean them up, change sheets, give them some water to drink then administer the necessary medications (because they now have a constant cough) and they snuggle down for the night (you hope). Now all that is left to do is put the sheet in the wash and try to fall into some restful state because now that your child is sick there is no way you are going to fall asleep with a calm mind.

Sigh!!! Whoever said that mothers have it easy needs to walk in our shoes for a couple of hours.

Can A Married Man & A Single Woman Be Just Friends?

I have a friend who has been married for almost 4 years. Her husband works at a hotel where he is friends with a girl who he says is just his friend. The problem is that after working together 5 or 6 days together per week they still have to be constantly on the phone and spending their off days together. Sometimes she will go to his yard in the evenings and they will be outside in her vehicle 'chatting' for hours on end. I know if it was my husband I would have gone out to that car and cause some ruckus in the neighborhood.

The wife is saying that although she is uncomfortable with their 'friendship' she does not want to cause any waves because she wants her marriage...... Honey I would have been causing a Tsunami instead of waves because I would not be keeping my mouth shut so that he thinks that i'm some docile person that he can walk all over. Hell no! He must think twice before he starts that bull with me.

**Oh Snap**

My 6 yr old daughter has been walking around saying *Oh Snap* for the past couple of days and I was wondering where she heard such a phrase. I got my answer last night while listening to the tv drone on as she was watching the Disney Channel's - That's So Raven. The things they copy from these shows tells us that as parents we should always make sure that they are watching things educational.

Spring Cleaning!

Where do all this stuff comes from? That was the question I was asking myself Sunday while throwing out things that were no longer in use. My daughter alone had 3 garbage bags full of stuff. I guess I was too attached to the 'cute' little outfits.....(they grow up so fast.) to get rid of them.

Even though I was throwing out there were still one or two little items that got left back.lol But you just gotta grit you teeth and say out with ya!

Scale Moving In The Right Direction! lol

Whoohoo! Weighed myself on Saturday and I lost another 5 lbs. Total pounds lost so far is 15. I'm totally freaking here..... It is so good to see the scale moving in the right direction. lol

Gone Too Soon!!

I will always remember the phone call at 9:38 p.m. on 9th March 2005, notifying me that you were in an accident and the endless parade of phone calls between other co-workers and myself and praying that you'll be alright. Some of us journeyed to the hospital to give moral support to your family and were eventually advised by the doctors and nurses to go home and get some rest as there is nothing else that can be done but for us to wait and pray.

After a restless night of tossing and turning, we anxiously wish morning would come so that we could resume our vigil with your family.... Unfortunately, this was not to be as we received word that "Rae died at 4 a.m.". There was a tremendous outpouring of grief as we all kept calling each other not wanting to believe that you were really gone from us.

I'll forever recall the screams that greeted me at work as co-workers who did not realize you were in an accident heard of your passing. We later learnt that persons in neighboring office building heard of cries of agony and grief. We could not work that day since just passing your desk or seeing your water glass would evoke more pain and grief. There were tears from Management down to the persons who cleaned the offices as we all struggle to come to grips with your sudden passing.

Later as we would reflect on the tremendous impact you had on our lives we can only say that you came to show us what pure love and innnocence is like.
You'll forever have a place in our hearts just as your picture now has a permanent place in our office to remind of your beauty and sunshine.

Sleep on sweet Rae..... we'll love you forever.

Migranes

It's 3 a.m and you feel the makings of a headache coming on so you decided that you'll just get some extra sleep.... sooooo back to la la land you go. The next time you catch yourself you hardly want to lift your head much less get out of bed ..... this can only mean one thing..... you now have the mother of all headaches a.k.a MIGRANES!

To make matters worse I could not even call in sick because my supervisor was already on a plane heading for NY for a much deserved vacation..... so all I can do is take two 500 mg paracetamol tabs and wear dark classes to help filter the morning sunlight. I'm just happy it's the weekend so that I wont even have to budge come tomorrow morning..... I'll plead with my hubby to keep our daughter away from me until about 8 a.m lol

Is Life Fair!

Sometimes we may wonder if life is fair especilly when we see good persons dying young. You don't drink or smoke, you take care of yourself as best you could and then you seem to be going good them bam!!! you are struck with some life-changing illness. Take Dana Reeve for example.... she faithfully looked after her husband for 9 years before he passed; then a year later she lost her mother; now she lost her battle with cancer leaving behind a son who has seen too many suffering in his young life if you ask me. My heart absolutely goes out to him.

It hurts when you see such a loving and giving person cut down so young and there are persons out there who drinks and smokes excessively, do all manner of drugs and live to ripe old ages.... you just gotta wonder .....IS LIFE FAIR?

I Want To Visit My Friends in Canada!

After seeing the pics and reading the commentaries that goes with them i'm ready to jump on the next plane to Canada. lol

T'is The Season To Be Sick!!!!

I get a flu twice yearly.....at the end of the summer when it is moving from hot to cold then around March when it is changing from cold back to hot. It is the most miserable time for me especially being in an air conditioned office all day.

5 Minutes More !!!

After getting up at 4:45 a.m everyday to go exercising, I would love to sleep in just one morning per weekend. Is that too much to ask? I dont think so but obviously my daughter has other ideas.

On weekday mornings I have the time of my life getting her out of bed to get ready for school but come Saturday mornings she is little miss sunshine......bouncing on my bed saying mommy it's time to wake up.... it's bright outside...... I want someting to eat please (and all that nice stuff. lol)

Upon checking my watch (because I dont even have the strength to look at the clock) I realize that it;s only 6:15 a.m....... (freaking 6:15 a.m) Now this is the same child who will not budge before 7 a.m if you let her on a school morning. I say to her "baby it's still early give mommy 5 minutes" satisfied she goes to watch some tv which is fine with me if it allows me to to snooze for at least 15 minutes more....NOT!!!!

She is soon back saying "mommy wake up it's morning" by now i'm momma bear... letting her know that come Monday morning if I have to call her more than once to get up there is gonna be some action in this here house. lol

Hey who says moms dont know how to get their revenge. rofl

Kids Are So Innocent!!!

My hubby was feeling a bit on the 'frisky side' this morning but because 'Flo' was in town he could not get to 'first base' lol. So he got up and went into the kitchen for a glass of water.... unfortunately our daughter was just getting some juice herself when she noticed his.... er... shall we say 'his flagpole' lol and she looked at him and innocently asked...."Daddy what is that in your pocket?"

OMG!!! I could not help myself but I was histerical with laughter. She kept asking me..."mommy what are you laughing for" but what could I tell her? I just said that I got a joke and off she went back to her cartoons lol.... Hubby was so embarassed that he came back in the bed until his ....'pole' deflated..... ROFLMAO!!!!

Water !!!

I've been drinking alot of water for the past 3 weeks and let me say that i've developed a very personal relationship with the ladies room at work.lol I've been there so often during the day that it's just a matter of time before it says ....welcome back girlfriend...roflmao

Children and Honesty!

Have you noticed that little children are not afriad to say what is on their minds? They'll tell you right out if you smell, looks nice or just plain disgusting.lol
