A What is in my eyes????

Being in the Caribbean it tends to be a bit warm during the summer evenings sometimes....so since it is still relatively safe in our neck of the woods we sleep with our awning windows open. However, the breeze was a bit strong and cool so my daughter caught a draft is one of her eyes. She came out of her room to let me know that her eye is hurting her and being 'doctor mom' I told her that she caught a draft in her eye.

She looked at me like I had just sprouted some horns then she went to the full length mirror on the door to examine her face. After a few seconds she turned to me and said...."but mommy I don't see a giraffe in my eye" ROFL!!! I guess she was not fully awake as yet. lol

"I'm Moving Out"

That was the newsflash that my 6 yr old daughter gave my husband and I this morning. lol Her dad had just scolded her about using a not so nice word she picked up at school and when I took his side by telling her not to let me hear her repeat that word again she realized that she was out-numbered and thus her 'bombshell' that she is moving out.

However, I know that even before she reaches her destination (my sister's house.lol) she is gonna want to know when we are going to come and pick her up. ROFL!

Kids!! You just gotta love them.

How Far Would You Go For A Little Hygiene?????

All of us likes to feel fresh throughout the day when working but it is virtually impossible especially if you have to be going back and forth on a regular basis. There are others who tend to remove all of their clothes while relieving themselves no matter where they are.

One of my sisters were giving me some antics of one of her co-workers which just absolutely had me in tears of laughter. Let me give you the conversation between my sister and I...... we'll call her co-worker Nicky to protect her privacy...lol

My sister: Nicky did not come to work today.... well after the stunt she pulled I had already expected it.

Me: What stunt?

Sis: She went to the bathroom to express herself and she has a habit of bathing afterwards but unfortunately she was at work and there are no showers

Me: Did she take a bath in the face basin.

Sis: That would have been easier than what she did.

by now i'm chomping at the bits wanting to hear this little ditty.lol

Me: If she did not take a bath in the face basin ....OMG... dont tell me she used the toilet bowl

Sis: Ewww! Now that would be so nasty.lol

Me: Ok I give up... what did she do?

Sis: Girl Nicky took a can of Lysol and sprayed her ass with it saying she wants to feel fresh.

Me: What? Did you say lysol?

Sis: Yes! now she has this big rash in her ass-crack (my sister does not mince words.lol) so she cant sit still because she is raw up in there.

By now i'm practically on the floor with laughter and tears running down my cheeks because i'm trying to imagine Nicky spraying lysol in her ass.

Those Darn Infomercials!

It irks me to see some infomercial actors/actresses acting the fool. They need to get real honest to goodness persons who will really tell them where to go put some of their products.lol For example there is one now on about cooking spaghetti in a glass tube and pouring boiling water on it. Before that they showed a woman with her hands under he chin waiting for water to boil while having a handfull of spaghetti waiting to put in the pot.

Show me one housewife who will wait for a pot of water to boil and looking at her watch as if to say this is taking for ever. They need to get real with those infomercials.

Got A Break Today...whew!!!!

I finally get a chance to sit at my desk this week. Some days I could not even get to log on to MSN because of all the moving around of staff and setting up computers so that they will have access to the network. I'm sure I would have gone into withdrawals if I did not get a chance to really sit at my desk today.lol

Yearly OBGYN Visits!

Why do doctors always say relax when they are giving you an internal (yes the poke around inside kind of examination.lol)examination? Hellooooo it hurts!!!! And another thing, how can you relax when they are right up in your c-u-next-tuesday? I've been getting pap smears for years and I will NEVER get accustomed to them.

One of my sister's asked her doctor if he liked his job because here she was with her legs spread to kingdom come and he is there sitting in front of you like he is in biology class. ROFL!

Babies & Motherhood!

There is something that has always bothered me and that is.......why do young girls seem to get pregnant if the guy just looks at them too long (i know that's not how they get pregnant.lol) and a woman ......and I stress WOMAN who has all the love, time and competence to deal with a child always seem to have trouble getting pregnant? It's just not fair ;-((

It Does Not Take Much To.......

...excite kids.lol My daughter has a dentist appointment today and I had to show her what clothes she will be wearing when she gets home from school because....'I'm going to the dentist' big whoopee.... lol

New Management!

Why is it that whenever there is a change of management they always come so gong-ho; ready to take on the world but after a few months you wonder if this was the same person from a few months ago. The last manager we had came with such grand ideas but after a few month it all went to hell in a hand-basket. Now there is another and he too have some outlandish ideas which seem practical now but if he drags his feet like the last manager it will all go to hell in the same hand-basket.

Departmental Changes At Work!

So the General Manager was fired and we now have an acting General Manager. Yesterday there were meetings, meetings and more meetings. Staff is being moved around and new ones are being hired. Thankfully my department (MIS) was untouched. WHOOOOHOOO!!! lol

Now only time will tell if the changes were actually good or bad ones.

Thankful For My Mom!

Yesterday was my friend, Natalie's funeral and it totally broke my heart to see that her little son was so afraid to go close to his mom's casket. His thinking was that if he does not go any closer he will not have to remember her lying there ;-(

I now have a headache which I know was as a result of being so worked up yesterday. You try your best not to break down in front of the children but sometimes you just have to say...'to hell with it' and let it all out.

One thing I know she would have been pleased about is the fact that there was so much support for her husband and children. Her kids classmates came out in their numbers and really supported them. It brought even more tears to the adults present eyes to see how the children hugged and held on to their classmates to give them such strong moral support. Children can be so loving!

I do hope that the support and love continue to be shown to those kids because as the days and months go by there'll be times when they are going to miss her so. much.
